Capture is looking for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to help build and lead our development, QA, database and DevOps teams. This team is responsible for developing, deploying, and scaling the industry’s first Higher Education focused SaaS marketing automation and predictive analytics platform to help colleges and universities identify, convert, and enroll the right students to their schools.

The right candidate will possess a strong background leading a team of local and remote developers and will have proven experience managing software projects. The ideal candidate must have a well-rounded software development background and be comfortable spending some of their time coding.

 

MUST HAVES:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT field or related, and/or at least 8 years of experience in software development.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a team of software developers at a SaaS platform company.
  • Required experience with the following technologies: PHP (5 years), Laravel (3 years), MySQL (3 years).
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in software development lifecycle, agile, and scrum.
  • Experience communicating with technical (at least 5 years) and non-technical (at least 3 years) stakeholders.
  • Must be able to take high-level directives and lead the effort of developing start-to-finish project plans based on internal project management framework & lifecycle processes.

 

NICE TO HAVES

  • Experience with the following technologies: Linux, HTML, JavaScript, and AWS

  

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Managing and training a group of software engineers and developers – who work both locally and remote.
  • Architecting, developing, deploying, and supporting a scalable SaaS software platform.
  • Researching and evaluating third-party solutions to integrate into the Capture platform
  • Working with management to develop strategy and multi-year technology road maps.
  • Overseeing and directing project/developer schedules and milestones.
  • Setting success metrics for the development team.
  • Helping to build a world-class software development team.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, project documentation, UI design, database & infrastructure management, quality assurance, security auditing, and maintenance.

LOCATION
This is a fully remote position, with the option to work in the office if desired. You may be required to travel periodically to attend business meetings and conferences or meet with the team in person. While Capture is headquartered in Louisville and works primarily in ET, we have employees in all areas of the United States and know that to get the best talent pool we must expand our reach to cities outside of Louisville.
